A reminder that not every path is smooth. There are parts that will test you, shape you, and ask you to keep going.
Road Less Traveled is about the parts of the journey that aren't easy or pretty…the seasons that require more from you than you expected and the moments that test your ability to keep moving forward.
This piece is intentionally raw and heavily layered, built from torn fabric, textured materials, and rough, imperfect surfaces. I wanted the physicality of the piece to reflect the reality of a path that hasn't been perfectly smooth.
For me, this piece is also a testament to refinement. I've learned that even when God’s hand is in something, in fact especially when His hand is in something, you will recognize that by the moments that really confront you.
I think a lot of us are willing to take a new path as long as we know it will be a smooth one. But the moment we realize the road may (and will) come with setbacks, discomfort, sacrifice, and refinement, it’s easy to turn back toward what feels safer.
Maybe that’s what makes it the road less traveled. Not that no one else could take it, but that fewer people are willing to keep going when the going gets tough.
